The outer globe-construction is 24 meters in diameter and 19,9 meters tall – as tall as a 5-story building. The inner weather globe is 4 meters in diameter and is suspended inside the globe. The audience are positioned in a circle around the inner globe. The inner globe uses 4 high tech projectors that are able to show real-time footage of our planet from space.
The inner globe is suspended from the top of the main globe and displays
real-time footage of Earth from space. This is made possible through live satellite
transmission. It is also stored with global weather data.
The Climate Planet story is written and told by weather and climate expert, Jesper Theilgaard, and developed in collaboration with NASA.
An experience area outside the Climate Planet has been made in collaboration with our partners. This area focuses on making sustainability tangible by inspiring and educating people people on how to “go green” in their everyday life.
Thanks for sharing this story. It definitely opened my eyes. We saw the show with our 8-year old daughter a week ago, and tonight during dinner she said, “I wish I was big enough to give Earth a giant hug, so everything would become good again.
I definitely recommend that you visit Climate Planet. The story about the climate and our influence on it is professionally narrated by Jesper Theilgaard and the quality of movie is really astounding.
Even if you have the slightest interest for Mother Earth, you need to see this. Jesper Theilgaard is a great narrator. It was stunning to be able to see climate change projected directly on the planet – it makes the incomprehensible comprehensible.
Really important facts and story … for us (from 1971) and for our kids. My son that’s 9 years old thought it was exciting. It was thought provoking for him. More of this, please. It was even easy to understand from a child's perspective.
Extremely beautiful experience. Lots of thought-provoking and new facts about the common challenges we all face. It’s a movie EVERYONE needs to see - and challenges that EVERYBODY needs to know.
